Our aim is to provide the highest quality training and tuition for aspiring young performers and those curious to explore their talent; to give our students the ideal preparation for the next step of their careers in the sixth form arena without charging ultra-expensive fees. Our focus is BTEC level 3 age 16-18 and 18+ Foundation level.

Courses have been led by West End leading man Gary Watson since 2015, who has appeared in several hit musicals, including Les Miserables, Jersey Boys and Matilda. Alongside Watson is a faculty of top tutors from across the industry, including head of musical theatre Chris Stoddart (Jersey Boys, Evita), head of dance Hayley Elston-Love (Princess & Costa cruises - DDI) and head of acting Francesca Ellis (The Railway Children, Company).

At LCPA we offer two courses:

  • 2 year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts, completely free for students 16-18 – a BTEC course that is the equivalent of three A-Levels and operates as the perfect springboard for further training.

  • 1 year Professional Foundation vocational course for 18+ students seeking preparation for drama school, dance college and university entry. As part of our commitment to being affordable, we are proud to offer a scholarship fund to support students who may require help with fees.

Our students are given the option to choose Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre pathways depending on their strengths and specialities, ensuring that each experience is individually tailored. There is some integration between the BTEC and Foundation courses as the classes are streamed by level.

LCPA is also regularly joined by star industry guests, from Alice Fearn (Wicked), to Sophie Isaacs (Heathers) and Jon-Scott Clark (Hamilton). Our faculty of West End and Industry tutors combined with our first-rate facilities provide the finest pre-degree training - free or affordably -and this is what makes LCPA such a special place to begin your career.

All courses are taught at LCPA’s multi-studio complex in South-East London where facilities include our performance space the Arch Theatre, rehearsal studios, and the Mezzanine Café.

Abbey Wood and the surrounding neighbourhoods are undergoing a continuing programme of improvement from new Sainsbury's, Starbucks and Lidl close by to the eventual opening of the new Elizabeth Line which will culminate at Abbey Wood Station just a ten minute walk from the College.

LCPA is accessible to students from all over the south east, London and Kent, and beyond. We are 15 minutes from the A2/Blackwall Tunnel, 25 minutes from the M25/Dartford Crossing and just 30 minutes from Central London by train and car, giving our students access to West End theatre on their doorstep.

People tell you that you can’t. At LCPA, you learn that you can.”
